Leadership

We welcome members to participate in leading the Newcomers Club of Greater Seattle, an all-volunteer organization. Our leaders generally find that guiding club life deepens their connections with one another. New leaders invigorate the club with their new ideas and energy.

Opportunities include serving on the Board of Directors and its teams and task forces, leading Interest Groups, and helping with special projects. If you are interested in taking on a leadership role, contact president DeAnna Kreger.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

As a nonprofit social group, our club life is guided by our Board of Directors. Per Club Bylaws, it has nine members elected to one-year terms.

  • BOARD SCHEDULE: The Board meets monthly from September through June, plus one or two times during the summer to draft a budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. Members are welcome to attend; see the Events Calendar for meeting times and Zoom links.
  • BOARD ELECTIONS: Board members are elected as a slate in May and installed at our All-Club Event in June. 
  • BOARD TERMS: One year. Members are encouraged to serve longer.

ATTEND A BOARD MEETING

Our Board of Directors meets on the first Wednesday of every month except for a hiatus in July-August. We begin with social time at 10:15 am, followed by business from 10:30-12:30.  Meetings  are held on Zoom and are open to all club members.
